Have you ever stopped before a view that filled your soul? Ever reached for your camera to hold onto something you loved too much to let it pass? Ecfrasi begins there — in the wish to keep a feeling — and carries it one step further: it turns that feeling into words.

Hand it something seen — a photograph, a frame paused from a video, the view through your camera — and it looks, then answers in verse. This is ekphrasis, the old art of writing toward an image: not a caption but a short poem that reaches past the frame for the feeling it holds.

The frame is read on your device and only the single still you choose is ever sent. The poem that returns has never existed before, and is kept nowhere.
